During the last 20 years, the Ukrainian-German educational and scientific Institute has the fruitful cooperation with Dr. Ulrich Wissmann within the framework of various educational and humanitarian projects. At the present time, Mr. U. Wissmann is the chairman of the board of the charitable organization PDUM «Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e.V.» (Darmstadt, Germany).
With the beginning of the war in Ukraine, this organization began to help Ukrainians, supplies the needy in various areas with food, hygiene products, medicines, generators and other technical means. A humanitarian convoy to Odesa was organized by the joint efforts of PDUM and the charitable organization «ErmstalHilft» (Dettingen) and its manager Mr. Simon Novotny, which arrived on March 12, 2023.
This convoy delivered gasoline generators of various capacities to Odesa Polytechnic. Thanks to this technique, it is possible to provide emergency connection of computer classrooms, lighting of classrooms and teaching premises in case of damage to Odesa's power grids and blackouts. Students will be able to charge phones and laptops, heat water for tea and coffee. Thanks to these generators, the Odesa Polytechnic will definitely be brighter and warmer.
Students, teachers and administration of the Odesа Polytechnic National University express their deep gratitude to Mr. Ulrich Wissmann, Mr. Simon Novotny, employees of PDUM and "ErmstalHilft" charities for the participation in the purchase of generators and the organization of the humanitarian convoy.
