From August 27 to September 2, 2024, the international FORMULA STUDENT POLAND competition took place in Słomczyn, Poland, bringing together the best young engineers from across Europe. Participants from the Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia, Germany, Romania, Hungary, and other countries competed by presenting Formula Student class cars designed by student teams. This event, organized by the FSP Foundation, became a true celebration of engineering talent and innovative ideas.
The competition consisted of two stages: a theoretical phase, where teams defended their projects by presenting technical documentation and business plans, and a dynamic phase, where participants tested their cars in various racing disciplines. Teams demonstrated their vehicles in the following challenges:
- Skidpad – maneuvering on an eight-shaped track;
- Acceleration – testing the dynamic characteristics and acceleration speed of the car;
- Autocross – a high-speed lap around the track;
- Endurance – the longest and most challenging test, covering 22 kilometers of racing, with driver changes midway through.
Before the races, the cars underwent strict technical inspections, and drivers demonstrated their preparedness and compliance with international FIA and SAE safety standards.
The "Formula Student" Odessa Polytechnic team expresses its gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious competition. For their determination and resilience, the Odessa team was awarded the special "IRON WILL TEAM" prize. This experience has been incredibly valuable for the team and serves as motivation for future achievements. The team is already working on the development of a new race car and is preparing for the next competition.
