On November 1, the implementation of the Erasmus+ grant project under the Jean Monnet Program “Security Resilience: Ukrainian and European Context” (project number 101175025) will commence at the National University "Odesa Polytechnic".
The project is based on the priorities of the European Union and the European Commission, which focus on citizen safety, common European values, and the protection of human rights, particularly the right to protection from violence and discrimination.
The multidisciplinary nature of the project enables the coverage of various aspects of security policy, including the development of a manual summarizing the best practices of Ukraine and the EU.
Within the framework of the project, it is planned to:
- study the theoretical and practical aspects of ensuring national resilience in conditions of a changing and uncertain security environment;
- propose an interdisciplinary theoretical foundation for mastering effective practical mechanisms for identifying and monitoring potential and latent security challenges, preventing such challenges, and responding to them;
- analyze European practices for ensuring national resilience in terms of their applicability in Ukraine;
- develop recommendations on conceptual foundations and response models for security challenges, the formation and implementation of comprehensive state policy in the field of security and resilience, and the improvement of Ukraine’s legislation in the relevant field.
To achieve the project goals, it is planned to develop educational materials and deliver a course titled “Resilience to Dangerous Challenges: Ukraine and the European Context”. The course is aimed at developing competencies in public administration and governance, training representatives of the public sector, and implementing European standards in the Ukrainian context.
The project “Security Resilience: Ukrainian and European Context” will contribute to strengthening security in Ukraine and advancing European integration, supporting stability and security on the European continent. Amidst the military conflict, it will help foster understanding and support in Ukrainian society for European initiatives aimed at creating conditions for recovery processes, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and countering security challenges.
