INTEGRATED RADIOECOLOGICAL MONITORING SYSTEM FOR LOCATIONS IN UKRAINE WHERE NPPs ARE SITUATED

The essence of development. Purpose and scope 

 Scientific and methodological principles have been elaborated for radiological control of the environment within the locations where the NPPs are situated; the said principles feed upon an ecosystem-based approach, that is not fully factored into practice, which renders possible allowing for all peculiarities of the environment and assessing the radiological situation more adequately.Increase in Radiological Safety of the NPPs.

The main advantages 

There has been elaborated a method of formation of a whole network of radiologic monitoring (control) points in the locations where NPPs are situated (Fig ); the method ensures obtaining high-accurace data, equally precise measurements throughout a territory concerned and maximum probability of revealing an emission plume under any meteorological conditions.

The R&D Product is completely available for introduction at any radiation hazardous plants.

The methodology and methods suggested for radiological monitoring of any overland ecosystems have been tested and officially approved and introduced in Zaporizhia, Khmelnytskyi, Balakovo and Chornobyl NPSs.The scientific results of the research have been reflected in 8 monographs and teaching aids, in more than 40 articles and 30 reports included in the information packages for a number of international and national conferences and seminars. The competitivity of the engineerings proposals is covered by one brevet d’inventions. The author has upheld before audience a thesis of a Doctor of Scence’s degree focused on the subject-matter of the research.  The results of the research have been introduced in Chornobyl, Khmelnytsky, and Zaporizhia NPSs.
