The device is designed for separation and mixing of flows with different phases and has small hydraulic resistance, a given salient angle of twist, which allows obtaining a given intensity of the centrifugal effort in the flow. The device was used for creation of linear deaerators for separation of two-phase flows, in order to avoid any gas-piston flow, for mixing thick juice with water in saturation pans, purification of fluid flows or gas currents from any mechanical admixtures.
In contrast with a constant-lead screw, the device has a shockless entrance condition, as well as a “diode-like” effect, i.e. different hydraulic resistance upon reverse switching.
At the blue-print stage, it is possible to set screw hydraulics required.
The device has undergone both experimental trials and industrial tests. Presently, it is used by a number of industrial undertakings and energy providers. The technology developed is covered by a Ukrainian patent.
