New areas of cooperation with the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU)

From the 20th till 24th of January, in 2020, the rector of the Odesa National Polytechnic University, professor Gennadiy Oborskiy and the director of the Ukrainian-Spanish Institute, professor Serhii Hutyria, visited the University of the Basque Country, in Spain. The purpose of the planned trip is to give lectures to postgraduate students and young scientists of the partner university within the framework of the academic mobility of the Erasmus+ program.

After the completion of the planned lectures on topical issues of CAE-design, improving the reliability of metal-cutting robotic complexes and urban electric transport, working meetings were held between professors of our university with the leaders and professors of the Higher Technical School of Engineers of Bilbao and the Faculty of Humanities of the Alava campus, in Vittoria-Gasteis. It should be noted that, starting from 2015, exactly in these UPV / EHU educational units, 20 students of our university underwent integrated semester training of the Erasmus program, also 10 of our professors underwent scientific internships, gave lecture courses and seminars to students and postgraduate students of UPV / EHU . During the same period, 8 students of the Faculty of Humanities of UPV / EHU underwent summer language practice at our university, 1 master of the School of Engineers did a course of the PhD program “applied mechanics”, and 2 professors of engineering mechanics gave classes to the students of the Ukrainian-Spanish Institute. 

As a result of discussions with the leaders of the School of Engineers and the Faculty of Humanities, the results of a five-year cooperation, as well as directions for its expansion, the parties came to a set of agreements of the academic mobility of students and professors, continuing joint summer language schools and participating in international conferences. The agreement was reached in principle of preparations for signing the Agreement of joint educational programs of the first and second cycle of partner universities (Joint Degrees), adapted to the European higher education space.
