Department of Hoisting and Conveying Machines and Robotics Equipment

More about

The Department was established in 1963.

The heads of the Department were Glushko M.F. (1963–1973); Shilin I.A. (1973–1974); Verstakov G.V. (1974–1975); Nomerovanyi B.S. (1975–1977); Oliinyk M.V. (1977–1979); Nomerovanyi B.S. (1979–1981); Semenyuk V.F. (1981–2014); Mikhailov E.P. (2014–2016); Yaglinsky V.P. (2016–2019), Lingur V.M. (2019–2022), Vudvud O.M. (from 2022 till nowadays).

Outstanding scientists – Doctors of Technical Sciences, Professors Mykhailo Fyodorovych Glushko, Georgy Verstakov, Mykola Vasilyovych Oliinyk, Sergeev Svyatoslav Timofiovych – worked at the Department.

The most significant scientific works of the Department are:

  • research on the stressed-deformed state of ropes (M.F. Glushko, S.T. Sergeev);
  • study of the dynamics of load capacity limiters of cranes (Semenyuk V.F.);
  • research of the stress-strain state of elastic elements of strain gauges (Semenyuk V.F., Morozovskyi E.K., Martsinkevich O.P.);
  • study of the dynamics of block double hoists (Semenyuk V.F., Stukalenko, M.I.);
  • research on methods of damping machine vibrations (Semenyuk V.F.).

The results of scientific works have found wide application in industry:

  • new designs of crimped ropes, as well as three-stranded ropes;
  • electronic strain-gauge systems for weighing railway wagons, cargo on cranes and other systems at thermal power plants;
  • crane scales at metallurgical plants;
  • strain gauges at aircraft engine plants.

10 doctoral theses and 29 candidate theses have been defended at the Department since its establishment.
